Prof. Riccardo Bellazzi, is Full Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Pavia, Italy, Director of the  Biomedical Informatics University Laboratory "Mario Stefanelli", Director of the Biomedical Informatics Laboratory, IRCCS Fondazione S. Maugeri, Pavia.
He is also the Vice President for Medinfo of the International Medical Informatics Association, past chair of the world conference of Medical Informatics (Medinfo 2010), past-chair of the working group on “Intelligent Data Analysis and Data Mining” of the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA). Prof. Bellazzi is Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association, member of the board of the AI in medicine society, member of the editorial boards of the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, Journal of Biomedical Informatics, BMC Bioinformatics, Methods of Information in Medicine and the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology.
Prof. Riccardo Bellazzi has strong expertise in developing advanced methods and tools for supporting clinical data analysis, molecular medicine and translational research, with a focus on decision support. Presently, he is developing software solutions for clinical and –omics data analysis, intelligent querying of the phenotype data, integrated search on biological data and knowledge repositories, text mining of the relevant literature.
Prof. Riccardo Bellazzi is author of more than 110 publications on international peer reviewed journals and of more than 170 publications in proceedings of international conferences.
